To mark this anniversary, I designed a tulip planting for the Arboretum. More than 15,000 tulip bulbs were planted on the lawn in front of the historic Vangeertenhof in the Arboretum Kalmthout and bloomed to their heart's content in the spring. For the layout of the planting I was inspired by an old plan of Charles Van Geert's nursery from before 1896, from which the Arboretum evolved.
