Dijkerhoek - landscape garden

I wanted to bring this garden - located in the rural area of the eastern Netherlands - into harmony with its beautiful surroundings by creating vistas in the old surrounding hedges(…)

The vistas are accentuated in some places by water levels that reflect the landscape into the garden. A formal main structure underlines the formal character of the fields. The original small-scale landscape, with plots surrounded by oak trees, can still be seen to some extent in the presence of old oak trees. To clean up this image, competing trees have been removed and new oaks planted in the new part of the garden. Sections of herbaceous perennials, ornamental grasses, meadows and ponds make for a varied and enjoyable walk.
